Our puppy preschool program has been created to help you and your family navigate through the fun and sometimes challenging puppy stages. We aim to give you the skills in training your puppy so they are confident, well behaved and sociable.
The first few months of life are vitally important in teaching your puppy how to behave and interact with other animals, people and situations that they are not accustomed to. Puppy preschool is your first step in training your new best friend.
Leanne runs our puppy classes over 4 weeks and are held afterhours in the clinic. Typically a class will take about 1 hour to complete and is designed to be fun and interactive. Our aim is to help you develop a happy, confident and social pet. Whilst we will teach you basic obedience commands such as sit, drop, stay and come we can also help with any problem behaviours such as biting, jumping or digging that may become apparent.
Likewise you will learn how to socialise your puppy, how to calm and handle your puppy in a confident manner, how to introduce new experiences and how to provide environmental enrichment for your puppy at home.
Bringing your puppy to the clinic also creates a positive experience about the clinic and we find that puppy’s who have done puppy school here are much more relaxed and comfortable when coming into the clinic later in life.
All training is based on positive reinforcement helping to create a lifelong bond between you and your new puppy.
