During this time, Mark became very involved in treating the local wildlife and setting up a community clinic in disadvantaged communities. He also developed a passion for small animal and avian medicine and enjoys tackling complicated cases. Mark also has a keen interest in medical imaging and ultrasound.
Mark loves sports of all kinds and doing anything which takes him into the wilderness areas. Along with his wife, two children and their dog ‘Stella’, Mark is very excited to be settling into the southern Gold Coast community.
Gina graduated from Edinburgh University in 2004 and after a few years in practice in the UK, she decided to make the move overseas to Australia. She has been working as a small animal practitioner on the Gold Coast for the last 10 years and enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, particularly soft tissue surgery. She is very passionate about animals and providing the highest level of veterinary care to all her patients.
Gina has a 10 year old boxer cross called Lennox and 3 cats called Enzo, Logan and Indy. She enjoys outdoor adventures and activities, especially camping with her husband and 3 young boys. She looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members.
Dr Beatrice graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2018. Fresh faced and full of enthusiasm, she has joined our team and impressed everyone with her expert professionalism and endless compassion for her patients. Dr Beatrice enjoys caring for all animals but has a special interest in Avian and Exotics medicine.
An avid and experienced bird and reptile owner herself, whilst studying for her degree, Beatrice spent a significant clinical rotation at the Brisbane Bird and Exotics Hospital. Beatrice is passionate about her continuing education and expertise in this area and is rapidly attracting a dedicated client base of bird and exotics owners who appreciate her patient approach to their pet’s individual needs.
Dr Beatrice shares her home with several Eclectus parrots, a Bearded dragon and an impressive collection of tropical fish. When not caring for her many pets, Beatrice enjoys surfing and rock climbing.
Being born and raised in South Africa, Dion had the kind of introduction into a career in the care of animals that Australian trained vets only get to dream about. As a school leaver, Dion studied Nature Conservation, and worked for 3 years for the Natal Parks Board as a ranger, working amongst the amazing wildlife of Africa on land and at sea. Dion’s exciting experiences include getting up close and personal with Great White Sharks and Seals off the South African Coast, whilst participating in the tagging and monitoring of these magnificent creatures.
Dion completed his Veterinary degree and went on to work in large and small animal practices in South Africa, the UK, and NZ before settling on the Sunshine Coast with his young family. Their home is a menagerie of creatures, with birds and dogs, and a blue tongue lizard, which Dion and his daughters reared after rescuing it from a roadside as an injured baby. Dion is an avid water sportsman; he has solo swum the English Channel and is now a keen kite boarder.
Dion is passionate about surgery, and in 2011, after rigorous written and oral examinations, he gained his Membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons, in Small Animal Surgery.
Renae is our practice manager, joining the new Twin Towns team in September 2019. Renae spent 12 years nursing and managing at a large mixed animal practice in the Hunter Valley in NSW before relocating her family to the Gold Coast.
Renae’s technical skills and experience are utilised best when caring for complicated medical patients and emergency presentations. After so many years, Renae is still as passionate as ever about the animal care industry. She is enthusiastic about creating a positive client experience at Twin Towns whilst leading a compassionate team of veterinary professionals who balance caring for their pets, the people who own them and importantly, each member of our team.
Renae shares her home with “Scout” the Kelpie, “Penny” the cat and “Skittles” the conure. In her spare time, Renae is kept busy with her children’s’ involvement in surf sports and volunteering in her Surf Lifesaving club.
Our longest standing team member, Arielle has experience in both wildlife and domestic animal nursing. As our head receptionist, it is usually Arielle’s welcoming face greeting clients as they enter our clinic.
Anyone who meets Arielle is struck by her beautiful, bubbly personality and her willingness to help anyone in any way she can. She applies this attitude towards all of our clients, the rest of the Twin Towns team and most importantly, our patients. Arielle has an extremely compassionate nature, filling her home with rescue animals and ensuring they have a fulfilling life.
Arielle loves assisting Dr Beatrice with all the avian and exotic pets that come to visit and is always willing to share her wealth of husbandry knowledge with their owners.
Arielle shares her home with her dogs Luna and Jasper and in her spare time, when she is not fostering rescue kittens, Arielle enjoys dining out and sampling all kinds of new foods.
Leanne has been nursing since graduating in 2013. Her compassion and dedication to our patients is reflected in all aspects of her work, putting many of our more nervous patients at ease during their visit or hospital stay.
We are particularly privileged to have Leanne coordinate and host our puppy pre school program and share her extensive knowledge in behaviour and puppy training.
The most rewarding part of Leanne’s role is helping clients to raise confident and well socialised puppies. With patience (and lots of love and cuddles), Leanne strives to create a positive lifelong relationship between dogs and their experience in veterinary care.
Leanne shares her home with “Baylee” the clever Border Collie, her 2 cats, a turtle called “Squirtle”, and an array of birds and fish.
In her spare time, Leanne is involved in her local junior rugby league club and loves to keep fit cycling with her children.
After graduating, Jess spent 3 years in a small animal clinic further north on the Gold Coast, before she joined the Twin Towns team in January 2020.

As she settles into the role of leading our team at the back end of the hospital, Jess takes great pride in ensuring we have the latest technology, equipment and training to meet our patient’s needs.
An excellent teacher, Jess also enthusiastically takes responsibility for our student placement program, mentoring the next cohort of professional veterinary nurses.
Jess shares her home with “Oreo” the cat and when not at work she spends her time surfing.
